PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Grace Pating is a recent graduate of Georgetown University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a concentration in Medical Anthropology. Enrolled in the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics program, she pursued a double-minor in Japanese and Public Health. Her studies predominantly focused on global mental health, indigenous environmental activism, as well as the intersections of health equity and racial justice.

While at Georgetown, Grace served as a board member for the Asian American Student Association and Buddhist Student Association. She also worked as a Student Program Assistant for Georgetown’s Health Education Services. In her final year, Grace was Editor-in-Chief of the Anthropology Department Newsletter, highlighting faculty and student-led ethnographic research.

Before joining Wood LLP, Grace worked as a Covid-19 Command Center Emergency Response Intern with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. She initiated high-risk, confidential medical interviews of confirmed COVID-19 cases and contacts, and authorized need-based referrals for city pandemic relief services. This experience informed Grace’s volunteer work during her senior year with Georgetown Law’s O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law.

At Wood LLP, Grace assists attorneys in many of the firm’s practice areas. She assists in factual research, copy editing and cite checking, publication and client-related document management, court filings and factual analysis.
